The Granville Series

The first two books in the Granville Series have been shortlisted for Lancashire Book of the Year Award in 2019 and 2021 respectively, making him the first ever self-published author to make the shortlist.

Poet in Residence

Nathan recently became the Poet in Residence for the People’s Powerhouse, with his latest collaboration with them being This is the North (below), created to set the scene – and tone – for the most recent convention in Manchester.

The role will see Nathan work alongside strategic members of the Powerhouse and work towards encapsulating important messages at important times.

Scribbles From The Seaside

Nathan’s first poetry collection, Scribbles from the Seaside, has been described as authentic, heartfelt and a homage to the north of England. Combining tales of his background, personal challenges around mental health and masculinity and the hope that exists in the world around him, it captures his humour and strength perfectly.

With pitch-perfect illustrations from Grumpy Girl Graphics, this book is not one to be missed!

Stories from the street

Stories from the Street is a short-story collection co-written by Nathan and young people between the ages of 16 and 25. These stories tell real life accounts of the young people’s experiences of living on the street, the challenges they encountered, the support they accessed – or didn’t – and how they navigated a torrid time in their lives to get back on steady ground. The collection is filled with hope and heartbreak in equal amounts. At all stages Nathan called upon his Youth Work values and experience to ensure this was an empowering experience, where integrity and respect were upheld and, ultimately, the young people felt real ownership of the final product.
